During the 2024-2025 school year, “visiting” one country a week was our goal. We visited a total of 28 countries.

Our learning activities varied from country to country. Sometimes we learned a few words in the language, created and tasted an iconic food, watched videos about the culture, listened to cultural music, and/or completed art projects to dive a little deeper.

The art projects we completed this year were from Lily & Thistle’s – Art Makes Me Smart – Around the World Bundle. Her bundle is pretty comprehensive. I had already created the bulk of my curriculum plan before I found her art makes me smart curriculum. Lily & Thistle’s curriculum complimented mine very well.

We placed country stickers in our passport books. In the passport book, we wrote interesting things we learned. Sometimes we printed pictures to glue into the passport book too.

Little gold dot stickers were placed on the world map we hung in the hallway. What a great visual geography lesson!
We LOVED exploring the world! Making things extra exciting this year was a little difficult because of… Felix. In the end, I feel our world exploration was a success!

I wouldn’t trade this year, focused on “child development”, for anything else. Watching Marshall hold up his hand and say, “check,” anytime Felix hit another milestone, made my momma heart melt. Watching Jozlin snuggle her baby brother every morning while she worked through various school work, made me feel like all is right in the world. Each time Zaylee would take a break to make Felix giggle, I would see the beauty of having everyone home learning and growing together.
Perhaps this will spark ideas that you can build upon to create a school year full of world exploration. Feel free to change things up to make it your own adventure!
The world exploration pdf that we created is available for download for FREE along with the printable sticker document.
Sending love from our homeschool to yours!

P.S. Yes, I am a tired mom of an energetic almost 10 month old cherub. As a result, this is short sweet and to the point because sleep calls me once my sweet children are asleep. In the same breath, I must say I love these days and wish they didn’t speed by so fast!
